Faux Carved Wood Technique for Kylie Bertucci's International Blog Highlights Winners Hop

Hi, Everyone!
First, I want to say I'm so excited to be participating in the Top Ten International Highlights Winners Blog Hop November, 2020, hosted by Kylie Bertucci! I earned this honor with my card, Metallic Gathered Leaves, placing in the top 10 of Kylie's November 2020 International Highlights. Thank you to everyone who voted for my card!

The theme for our cards is thank you and I can never thank my team members and customers enough!!!

The faux carved wood technique is the highlight of this rustic card. I used the dies from the Forever Flourishing die set to create this card. How to create this card:

Cardstock: Misty Moonlight 8 ½” x 5 ½”, 1” x 4 ¼”, Very Vanilla 4” x 5 ¼” (2), ¾” x 4”, Mossy Meadow for the top greenery piece.

To create the background:
Emboss the Very Vanilla pieces with the fern die as follows:
 Cutting Machine Sandwich:
· Basic Platform (without the Thin Die Adapter-Old platform one tab out)
· Standard cutting pad
· Die with the cut side down or up (I put it down) I used one from Forever Flourishing.
· Cardstock (Very Vanilla)
· Thin silicone rubber mat (blue or black)
· Impressions pad (white)
You may have to experiment with your layers to achieve the desired effect.

Score every 1/2" inch. Swipe Gray Granite or Misty Moonlight ink pad (ink spot is easier to control) across the whole Very Vanilla piece until you get the desired darkness. I swiped both sides to determine which effect I liked best. You will achieve an entirely different look on each side. Stamp dots from Forever Fern lightly all over with Misty Moonlight ink. Adhere to card front.
Cut fern from Mossy Meadow cardstock using Fern die. Adhere to card front. Tie bow and adhere to fern stem.

Punch ends of Misty Moonlight strip with Lovely Label punch. Stamp sentiment on Very Vanilla strip with Misty Moonlight ink. Punch ends with Lovely Label Pick a Punch. Adhere to Misty Moonlight punched strip. Adhere sentiment to bottom of card front with dimensionals.

Stamp inside Very Vanilla piece as desired and adhere to the inside of the card.

It's so much fun to play with this technique and different dies. No two dies give the same look!

I hope you like the card I created and will give this technique a try. Be sure to check out all the amazing creations the other blog hop participants have created. Take a look at the list below to see who's next, after me, Robbie Susan Chandler.

Gathered Leaves for Kylie's International Blog Highlight Vote For Me!

Hi, Everyone!
I've made this gorgeous Gathered Leaves Thank You card for Kylie's International Blog Highlights. This means I'm asking for you to vote for me so I can participate in her Top 10 Blog Hop! CLICK HERE TO VOTE! Look for entry #18.

Now on to the details for this card. Thanking someone for a gesture you're thankful for will be easy with a card this beautiful! The nice part is that this card is easy to assemble, once your pieces are cut.

The card base is Thick Very Vanilla 11" x 4 1/4" and a 4" x 5 1/4 " Very Vanilla piece is adhered to the card base after stamping the sentiment in VersaMark and heat embossing with gold embossing powder.

The combination of  the 3 different Brushed Metallic Foils adds so much dimension. Wrapped in Texture embossing folder kicks the top gold foil piece up a notch and adds interest to the circle piece that was punched from Very Vanilla with a 2" circle punch. The bottom foil piece is the brushed bronze foil for a contrast.  For added interest, I adhered a gold hoop around the Very Vanilla Circle.

The leaves were cut with the Gathered Leaves dies, which cut and emboss at the same time adding a realistic look. I used all 3 of the foils from the Brushed Metallic Foils, which include brushed bronze, copper, and gold. I added a Pool Party Sheer Ribbon bow to tie the leaves together.

Accent pieces were cut from Pool Party card stock with the dies from Sunflowers, and the stems with the berries were cut with a die from the Poinsettia set.

I hope you like my card and will take a minute to vote for me. Thank you in advance!
