Gold Foiled Flowers Gatefold Surprise Card for the Crafty Collaborations Share it Sunday Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to my blog! Today I'm hopping with the talented Crafty Collaborations group of demonstrators. Our theme is to share any project we would like. Today I'm sharing a card that has a surprise mini-card inside. Below is a picture of the card folded up.

Surprise! Here is the card opened up with the mini-card inside. This card could be used for a birthday, anniversary, or even a wedding. Let's look at a few more pictures, then you can download a free tutorial with all the measurements and instructions. I have also provided a YouTube video.

Here is what the card looks like from a top view.

Below are pictures of the inside mini-card. This is a top view of the mini-card.

The front section of the mini-card was covered with Wild Wheat card stock and the beautiful Naturally Gilded Specialty Designer Series Paper.

Below is the back inside of the mini-card. The sentiment was stamped with Wild Wheat ink on Very Vanilla card stock and adhered to Wild Wheat cardstock. The sentiment piece was cut with a die from Thoughtful Expression Dies.

The side sections were embossed with the Layered Floral Embossing Folder.

The Gold Foiled Flowers Card were cut to fit on the front outside sections and the back inside.

To fold up the card, fold the right-hand side in first, then the left-hand side on top of it.

Nested Friends on Gold Foiled Flowers Card with Unique Ink Application Technique for Kylie Bertucci's International Blog Highlights Winners Hop

Hello and welcome to Kylie Bertucci's International Winners Blog Hop! Today I'm joining Kylie Bertucci and a group of very talented demonstrators for a blog hop around the world. I'm so excited to be participating in the Top Ten International Highlights Winners Blog Hop! I earned this honor with my card, Thoughtful Expressions Hummingbird Easel Card. I am honored that you voted for my card.  Thank you so much.

This card that I'm sharing with you today is made with a simple but unique ink application technique. I'll hit the highlights of the card, but I have a video over on my YouTube Channel with complete instructions, and a free tutorial download with all the links below. 

My card base is a 11" x 4 1/4" piece of Wild Wheat. The next layer is the front of one of the Gold Foiled Flowers Card bases.

Now let's take a look at the technique. Starting at the bottom, squeeze some Pecan Pie reinker onto a block, soak the dauber in the ink, then smear across the bottom fourth of the card front. Next, repeat with Pumpkin Pie reinker, then with Daffodil Delight reinker, and lastly, with Azure Afternoon. I left some spaces in the Azure Afternoon ink to mimic the look of clouds. After applying the ink, I tied a bow out of Blueberry Bushel ribbon, adhered it to bottom of the card front, and adhered the card front to the card base.

The nest was cut from Pecan Pie and Early Espresso cardstock with the dies from Nested Friends. The eggs were cut from Blueberry Bushel cardstock. The nest was adhered to a circle cut with an Everyday Details circle die out of the Distressed Gold Specialty Paper, then adhered to the lower right-hand corner.
