Valentine's Day Card for Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge #323

This Valentine's Day card is for the Paper Craft Crew Card sketch PCC323 challenge. Click here to check out their blog and below is a picture of the sketch.
When I think of Valentine's Day Cards, my first thought is always pretty, prissy, and lacy, therefore, I felt the Meant to Be bundle fit my vision. Below is my card.
The new Lace Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder is both pretty and lacy and I love the lacy dies in the Meant to Be Stitched Framelits dies. The Detailed Trio punch finishes off the corners in a special way.

Of course the inside has to be special, too. Accented Blooms provided the perfect saying. There's another one of the Meant to Be Stitched Framelits inside, the string of hearts. I repeated the finished edge of the front Very Vanilla piece.

To create this card:
Cardstock:  Lovely Lipstick 8 ½” x 5 ½”, 3 ¾” square
                  Very Vanilla 5” x 3 ¾”, 5 ¼” x 4”, 2 ¾” square

1.     Fold card base in half. Round corners.
2.     Punch corners of both Very Vanilla pieces with the 3 tear
drops then with the rounded corner.
3.     Cut Lovely Lipstick large heart, cutting inside and
        the scalloped edge.
4.     Temporarily attached large heart, only, to Very
Vanilla Piece. Emboss with Lace embossing folder.
Adhere Very Vanilla piece to card front.
5.     Remove large heart from Very Vanilla piece and
adhere dimensionals to the back.  Stick back on
        lining up the embossed pattern.
6.     Cut lacey heart from Very Vanilla and adhere to red
heart. Adhere large heart outline on top.
7.     Stamp sentiment on Very Vanilla with Lovely
Lipstick and punch with Word Window punch. Punch
a Lovely Lipstick piece with Modern Label punch.
Adhere the 2 together. Adhere across hearts with
        dimensionals.
8.     Stamp inside piece, cut hearts from Lovely Lipstick
and adhere to bottom of Very Vanilla piece. Adhere
        to inside of card.

Seasonal Wreath Class

Don't you just love wreaths?! I do! I have wreaths for every season all over my house! At Christmas I decided to make a wreath using the Sprig punch and a couple of colors of Stampin' Up! paper as a Christmas gift, but, to make it seasonal, I made 4 flowers representing the 4 seasons of the year. I adhered a Velcro dot to my wreath and the flowers so I can change them out each season. I mounted the wreath on a greyish color wood panel. It was so popular, I have decided to offer a class where you will make the wreath and the 4 flowers. The class will be held:
Saturday, February 9th at 12:00
There are several options:
If you only need the paper the cost is $10.
If you need paper and the punch, the cost is $20.
If you need paper, the punch, and the wood panel, the cost is $30.
The deadline to sign up for this class is January 29th, if you will need the punch ordered for you.
Let me know if you are interested.
Below are pictures of all 4 seasons:

Until later,

Global Design Project #172-Valentine's Day Octopus

I decided to branch out and submit an entry into the Global Design Project #172 challenge, CASE the designer #GDP172.
(CASE=Copy and Selectively Edit)
Below is the sketch from the designer, Shawn De Oliveira, that we are CASEing.

With my Valentine's Day Cards classes beginning next week, I thought it would be appropriate to design a card with a Valentine's Day theme, thus swimming in is my Valentine Octopus! What you can't see from this picture is that my octopus is mounted on a spring or wobble so he bounces back and forth!
Tips an Tricks:
Card stock sizes:
  • Basic Grey 5 ½” x 8 ½”, 2 ¾” strips to cut net, Balmy Blue 4” x 5 ¼”, Whisper White 5” x 3 ¾”, Smoky Slate 2 ¾” strips for octopus and sand dollars, Real Red 1 ¾” x 8 ½” strips
  • The Balmy Blue was embossed with the Seaside embossing folder and shimmered up with Wink of Stella.
  • I cut the net in a rough heart shape.
  • On this card I stamped the octopus on Whisper White with Smoky Slate, but have decided he looks better stamped on Smoky Slate with Smoky Slate ink.
  • Of course I had to add the hearts left from the heart strip that was adhered across the bottom to each of his tentacles.
Below is the inside of the card:

This card is going to my 2-year-old grandson on Valentine's Day, and that is why I chose this sentiment-So Many of My Smiles Begin With You!
