Hi, Crafty People!
Today is Technique Tuesday Blog Hop Day! That means I am hopping with a fabulous group of demonstrators all around the globe. Our technique challenge is any way to use scoring, and I chose to demonstrator the faux tile technique.
The first thing you probably noticed about my card is that I only used one color-Polished Pink! This is highly unusual for me as I like a lot of different colors on my cards. Of course, Polished Pink is a lot of color!
My card base is a 11" x 4 1/4" of Thick Basic White cardstock. If you haven't tried out Thick Basic White, you should. It's great for card bases! The next layer is a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Polished Pink cardstock.
To achieve the faux tile look, I started with a piece of 5" x 3 3/4" Basic White (not the thick this time). Score it every 3/4" on the 3 3/4" side as shown below. I used our Simply Scored Scoring Tool, a tool I can't live without!
Next score the same piece every inch on the 5" side. See below.
I then stamped this piece with the flower from the Elegantly Said stamp set in Polished Pink. I adhered this piece to the Polished Pink layer, then adhered my bow around both pieces. Next, I adhered this piece to my card front.
The Pale Papaya gems from the 2021-2023 In Color Jewels were placed in the flower center.
One last look!
I hope you like my card and will give it a try. Please take a minutes to visit the blogs of these talented demonstrators.
