Designer Series Paper for Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

Hi, Crafty Friends!
Today is our Technique Tuesday Blog Hop Day! That means I’m hopping with a fabulous group of demonstrators from all over the world! I think you’re really going to enjoy the projects everyone has for you, because they are ways to use your gorgeous designer series papers.

My projects involve using your paper to decorate craft bags you can buy at the Dollar Tree and other stores that sell them. I have been holding Christmas Collections classes which included my customers making 2 Christmas cards, decorating 2 Christmas bags, and making 2 tags to go with the bags. I’m going to show you all the bags we have made.

The first 2 bags were made with the Painted Christmas Designer Series Paper. On these 2 bags, I used 2 different patterns on each half, and connected them with a band of some type. We tied coordinating ribbon around one side of the handle. A matching tag was made and tied to the other side.

The next 2 bags were made in my Peaceful Cabin class and the Peaceful Place paper was used to decorate these bags. On the first bag I just used a 6” x 9 3/4" piece down the middle and finished off each side with a 1” x 9 3/4" stripe of another design. That paper is so beautiful and I wanted to use as much as possible. The silver mesh ribbon and black organdy ribbon from the annual catalog were perfect for tying around the handle. Then there’s our beautiful tag we made.

This bag I used 2 different pieces of designer paper. The silver mesh ribbon and black organdy ribbon was used again.

This last set of bags are the ones my customers will be making in my classes next week. The gorgeous Whimsy and Wonder Designer Series Paper is used on these bags. There are 2 pieces in the pack that are so pretty, that I didn’t think they needed to be cut apart.
The frayed Blushing Bride ribbon and white Organdy ribbon from the August to January Mini Catalog were tied on these bags.

If you would like to duplicate these bags, I have links below to each pack of paper in my online store. Don’t forget to hop on along over to the other talented demonstrators’ blogs and check out their great ideas!

  1. Question- did you decorate 1or both sides of the bag? I’m assuming 1.

    1. No, just one side, but with 2 sheets in a pack that are the same, you could do both. My customers loved doing these.
