Sweet Sorbet Hombre Effect for the Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to my blog! Today's Stampin Dreams Blog Hop theme is all about ombre, or gradual shading and blending from one color to another.

I chose one of the new In Colors, Sweet Sorbet, to make a fiery sunset card. A palm tree was added to my beach sunset. I was just at the beach a couple of weeks ago, and this is the kind of sunset we got to experience in the evenings.

My cardbase is an 11" x 4 1/4" piece of Thick Basic White cardstock folded in half. Sweet Sorbet ink was blended across a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Basic White cardstock with a blending brush. I adhered a torn piece of Post-it note to the bottom to make my island, then blended Sweet Sorbet the rest of the way up, getting lighter as I blended up the cardstock.

The sentiment is from Charming Sentiments and has a coordinating die from Sentiment Silhouettes. I just love this set!

Birds from the Let's Set Sail stamp set were added at the top.
