Hello and welcome to my blog and my Fa La La Friday Christmas Series. I'll be running this series for 6 weeks and welcome to week 6!
The card I'm featuring uses an awesome die set, Night Divine, and is made with the sea gull fold. Let's look at some pictures of the card, I'll give you a few details, then provide a link to a free tutorial, a video, and links to the supplies I used.
Below is the card folded up to go into an envelope.
This view is the card with the outer sections folded out. I used the O Holy Night Designer Series Paper, but unfortunately it is no longer available.
This view is it fully extended out.
The silver background paper is from the Holographic Trio Specialty Paper. I cut the Night Divine Dies out of white glimmer paper.
The back has two 4" x 2" Basic White pieces to stamp your sentiment on.
This is the right front side with the camel.
This is the left front side with the other animals.
To make the card base, cut 2 pieces of Night of Navy 4 1/4" x 8 1/4" then score at 2 1/4", 4", and 6 1/4". I am going to use Basic White pieces to show the construction as it is easier to see on the white cardstock. The numbers on the pieces below indicate how wide each section is. First, you lay the two pieces with the 2" sections next to each other.
Fold the outside sections under (mountain fold).
The next sections fold in as a valley fold.
Fold the inner 2 sections back onto the cardstock. My video explains this clearer. Place the 2 folded sides next to each other and hold in place with a piece of tape.
Next, adhere the 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" Night of Navy square on the 2 folded back sections.
This is what the card looks like from the top.
