Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I'm hopping with a talented group of demonstrators and we're here to show you how we use different coloring tools to create our projects. My card uses our Blending Brushes and the Frosted Forest Bundle, which includes a stamp set, dies, and masks, to make this beautiful Christmas card.
The card base is Shaded Spruce and the next layer is Basic White embossed with the Snowflake Sky Embossing Folder. I have made a concoction of glycerin and Wink of Stella to make my background shine. I show this in my video you can see by clicking on the picture at the end of this post. The strip under the circle is from the Graceful Greenery Vellum pack.
Now let me show you the steps in completing the tree. First, you stamp your image on Basic White in Mossy Meadow, then tape it down to your workspace.
The masks have the letters A, B, and C on them to guide you along. I laid Mask A over my stamped image and taped it down. This next step is VERY IMPORTANT. Take a pen or pencil and mark the notches on the masks. I have found it is helpful to also mark your corners.
I sponged Shaded Spruce over this mask.
The results
Tape down Mask B, lining up the marks.
Apply Garden Green ink.
The reveal
And, the last mask I lined up and applied Craft White ink.
Tada! Almost finished.
To give it a snowy look, I applied White Embossing Powder to the Craft White ink. Craft White Ink in a thick and slow drying ink, so it's perfect for embossing powders.
The bundle has a coordinating die for the tree, plus several other great dies.
Wink of Stella, applied to the white areas, gives it a even more glittery effect.
The circles were cut with a die from Spotlight on Nature.
