Plastic Wrap Ink Technique for Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

Hi, Crafty-Happy People!
Today I'm hopping with the Crafty Collaborations team, which is a global group of fellow Stampin' Up demonstrators. Blogs are a great way to check out a variety of awesome card ideas. Also, at the bottom of my post, check out the fabulous sale Stampin' Up! is having this month on their Designer Series Paper. Now let's get hopping along.

Our theme today is different ways to use ink, so I'm sharing a technique I just taught in my Father's Day Cards classes-using PLASTIC WRAP! Yes, that's right, plastic wrap! Here's my card. Can you see the plastic wrap effect? I also used the easel-fold style for this card.
Let me show you how I  made this card. Probably the first thing you noticed was the tile-look on the card. This was achieved by punching 14 tags with the Tailored Tag punch. Start in the middle and lay your tile moving outward. You will have some of the tag pieces hanging over the edges. Just trim those off.

Now it's time to talk about the plastic wrap. I just got a small piece, wadded it up, inked it up on an ink pad, then pounced it on my card stock. You can also swirl it around for a smoother effect, which is what I did on the Crumb Cake ink for the sand.

Next, came the Pacific Point ink. I really had to be careful with this color as it was very intense straight from the ink pad to paper.
In this picture you can see where I stamped straight from ink pad to paper, then continued stamping without inking back up. The color isn't as intense this way.
Lastly, I added Balmy Blue for the sky. You'll notice behind the lighthouse, I added a circle of Daffodil Delight for my sun and the beacon of the lighthouse.

I then stamped my lighthouse and sailboat on Basic White, colored them with my Blends, and die cut with the coordinating dies from Smooth Sailing. The rope and steering wheel are also dies from Smooth Sailing. The card below was for Father's Day, but this card would fit any occasion, just change your sentiment.
