Christmas Star Card made with Season of Elegance Specialty Designer Series Paper

Hello and welcome to my blog! Today I want to share a beautiful and unique card called a star card. I used the gorgeous Season of Elegance Specialty Designer Series Paper to make this card. I first spotted this card made by Tina Zinck. At the end of this post is a link for you to download a free tutorial with all the instructions and measurements and, also, a video showing the construction of this card. Check it out. Links to all the supplies I used are also at the bottom.

Here is the front of the card. The top view above shows the star formation.

You will need Season of Elegance Designer Series Paper (6) 4” x 4 ¼” (two scored along the 4” side at 1”, 2”, and 3”; four scored along the 4” side ½”, 1 ½”, 2 ½”, and 3 ½”). Burnish on all the fold lines. 

Add glue to the 1/2" flaps of one of the dsp pieces and adhere both flaps along the edge of the 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" piece, forming a box. Repeat with another dsp piece and adhere against the first one.     

Flip the base piece over and repeat the same steps on the other side.

You should now have 2 boxes on each side.

Split the 2 boxes on one side apart and apply glue to each split apart side.

Lay one of the remaining pieces in between the 2 boxes and press down. Repeat on the other side.

On the front I cut a tree out of gold foil with a die from Decorative Trees and adhered it to a Cherry Cobbler tree also cut with a die from Decorative Trees. I punched a star and adhered it to the top. This was adhered to a piece of Season of Elegance dsp cut with the third from the smallest die from Branching Out dies.

It will fold up and fit in an envelope.
