In-Person Card Class July 7th, 9th, and 10th with Emboss Resist Cards Plus a Christmas Card

Hello and welcome to my blog. My next group of In-Person classes are coming up next week, and you're not going to want to miss it! We're going to make 4 cards this time for only $20, mainly because I couldn't decide which 3 cards out of 4 I wanted to make, so I went with all 4!!! All you need to bring are your scissors and favorite adhesives (which are always available for sale at my classes). The schedule is as follows:
Thursday, July 7th  12:00    3 openings
Thursday, July 7th   5:00     4 openings
Saturday, July 9th   12:00   6 openings
Sunday, July 10th    2:00    6 openings

Now let's take a look at the cards you'll make. This first card is one of the emboss resist cards made with the Lovely and Lasting stamp set.

This next card is the other emboss resist card made with Nature's Prints stamp set.

Getting away from the emboss resist technique, this card is made with the beautiful Pretty Popups dies. This set comes with the rectangle die, the oval die, and also a round die. The die cuts pop up, giving a cool dimensional look. The top and bottom die cut pieces I sponged over with Mossy Meadow ink.

Drum roll please! Here is the first Christmas card of the season. I thought we would start making one Christmas card at each class to get a jump on our Christmas cards. This card was made with the gorgeous Boughs of Holly Suite, which is coming out in the new July-Deember Mini Catalog July 1st. The whole Suite is only $79.25 and that includes the stamp set, dies, a roll of natural woven ribbon, the Textural Elements, and designer series paper. Here's the card, which is an easel card.

Let me know if you would like to attend one of the classes. Hope to hear from you!

Nature's Prints Emboss Resist Technique for Kylie Bertucci's International Blog Highlights Winners Hop

Hello and welcome to Kylie Bertucci's International Winners Blog Hop! Today I'm joining Kylie Bertucci and a group of very talented demonstrators for a blog hop around the world. I'm so excited to be participating in the Top Ten International Highlights Winners Blog Hop! I earned this honor with my card, Willow Tree. Thank you so much for voting for me.

Today's card was inspired by an old, but lovely technique, emboss resist, that Judy Harrison presented at our Technique Club. I have always loved this technique, so thought I would give it a try with the Nature's Prints stamp set. Let's take a step-by-step look at this card.

The first step is to stamp your image in VersaMark and heat emboss with white embossing powder.

I then blended Pool Party ink randomly over all the images.

Tahitian Tide was next brush-blended randomly around.

I decided to add Flirty Flamingo as a contrasting color.

Now, to add a deeper, pop of color, I went with Pacific Point. This color really made the images begin to pop. That's the effect you are trying to achieve with this technique.

The last, but most important step, is to wipe your artwork with a paper towel. I use a dry one. This removes the ink from your embossed images making them really stand out! The artwork was then cut with the largest Scalloped Contours Die and adhered to an 11" x 4 1/4" piece of Tahitian Tide cardstock folded in half.

The thank you sentiment was stamped in VersaMark on Tahitian Tide cardstock, heat embossed with white embossing powder, punched out with the Lasting Labels punch, and adhered over a piece of Petal Pink ribbon to the upper left-hand corner of the card front.

I hope you like my card and will give it a try. Links to the supplies I used are at the bottom of my post.

Now, please take a minute and visit the blogs of other Top Ten Winners. You won't be disappointed!

Now let's take a look at the cards you'll make.

This first card is made with the Texture Chic Suite and Delicate Edges dies. The Suite includes the beautiful Texture Chic Designer Series Paper, Season of Chic Bundle, and the beautiful Distressed Gold Specialty paper. The price of the whole Suite is just $77.50 plus shipping and taxes. I will post a card I made using the Distressed Gold paper at the bottom of the post.

Next is the cute Wild and Sweet card with the panda. He looks so peaceful.

The third card introduces the beautiful Willow Tree bundle and I used the Texture Chic Designer Series Paper, again, for the background and the Fabulous Frames dies for the frame.

I hope you like these cards and live in the Tallahassee, Florida area. I would love to have you attend my classes.

Below is the card made with the Distressed Gold paper and also the Willow Dies.

Also, I have entered the card below in a card competition sponsored by Kylie Bertucci, and I would appreciate it if you would take a minute to go over to my blog and vote for it. There's only a few more hours left to vote. Just click on the picture of the card below. Details for making this card are also on my blog. Thanks so much.

Fancy Frames for the Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop - Monochrome Color Challenge

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I'm hopping with a talented group of demonstrators from all over the world. You have just enjoyed visiting the talented Linda Moore's blog. Our challenge is to show you projects you can make using our beautiful shades of blue ink and cardstock.

I chose to highlight Night of Navy and my card centers around the beautiful Sun Prints designer series paper and the Fancy Frames Dies. I also decided to make this an easel card. You'll love making an easel card, because it is an easy way to add a WOW to a card. The card base is 11" x 4 1/4" piece of Night of Navy scored at 5 1/2" and 2 3/4".

The 3" x 5" piece of Sun Prints Designer Series paper was cut with one of the Francy Frames dies (it comes in a set of 2).

A 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Basic White was embossed with the Twigs and Sprigs Embossing Folder and adhered to a 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" card base of Night of Navy. The Sun Prints frame was adhered to the Basic White piece favoring the right side. I then adhered the piece that was cut from the center of the frame back into the center with dimensionals. This piece was then adhered to the bottom half of the card front, forming the easel.
I cut a 4 1/4" x 2" piece of Sun Prints Designer Paper and adhered it to the bottom inside of the card base. I stamped the sentiment from the Happiness Abounds stamp set on Basic White in Night of Navy ink, cut it with a die from Seasonal Frames, and adhered it with dimensionals to the designer series paper. The dimensionals lift up the papers so the easel will have something to prop on to stand up.

Do you want to make this card at home? I have provided links below to the products used to make this card.

I know you can't wait to see what the other fabulous demonstrators have created using our hues of blue, so hop on over to our next demonstrator, who is Angie McKenzie.
Also, I have entered the card below in a card competition with Kylie Bertucci, and I would appreciate it if you would take a minute to go over to my blog and vote for it. Just click on the picture of the card below. Details for making this card are also on my blog. Thanks so much.
