Hello and welcome to Kylie Bertucci's International Winners Blog Hop! Today I'm joining Kylie Bertucci and a group of very talented demonstrators for a blog hop around the world. I'm so excited to be participating in the Top Ten International Highlights Winners Blog Hop! I earned this honor with my card, Translucent Florals Z-Fold, which earned Second Place! I am honored that so many of you voted for my card. Thank you so much.
This card that I'm sharing with you today was inspired by Susan Campfield. It's a front window fold card. I'll explain it to you with some pictures. Looking at the picture below, note how the front curves out from the Meandering Meadow designer series paper giving the effect of a window.
Start with a regular 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of Very Vanilla cardstock folded in half. Next, cut a 5 1/2" x 6 1/4" piece of Very Vanilla and score it 1/2" and 1" from each end. Cut the arch out with the die from Garden Meadow dies. See the 2 pictures below.
Emboss the front arched piece with the Exposed Brick 3D embossing folder.
Adhere this piece to your card front only applying glue to the 1/2" folded in flap. It looks like this from the top.
This side view shows how the fold looks.
Next, slide a 4" x 5 1/2" piece of designer series paper of your choice down in the opening from the top. I applied a little glue along the top and bottom edges to hold it in place.
Stamp your sentiment on Very Vanilla in Starry Sky ink, cut out, and adhere to the card front. I used Charming Sentiments and the coordinating dies, Sentiment Silhouettes.
When I trimmed my designer series paper for the front (Meandering Meadow is 6" x 6"), I had a strip left that I adhered to the inside. This really dressed up the inside.
Another look at the card.
