Friends are Like Seashells for Kylie Bertucci's International Blog Highlights Winners Hop

Hi, Everyone!

First, I want to say I'm so excited to be participating, again, in the Top Ten International Highlights Winners Blog Hop April, 2021, hosted by Kylie Bertucci! I earned this honor with my card, Tranquil Dies, placing in the top 10 of Kylie's April, 2021 International Highlights (actually, second place, thanks to your votes). Thank you to everyone who voted for my card!

Our theme is Thank You, and that's something we sometimes don't hear enough. I remember my mom staying on me when I graduated from high school about writing those Thank You notes for my graduation gifts. Back then, I didn't realize how much a simple thank you note meant.

Since I only live about 2 hours from the beautiful beaches of the Panhandle of Florida and Panama City Beach, I thought it only appropriate to use the Friends are like Seashells Bundle from the January-June Mini Catalog.

I used vellum for my background piece. Ink from Bermuda Bay and Granny Apple Green reinkers were spread around on one side of the vellum with alcohol in a water painter, embossed with the Seashells embossing folder, and, for a special touch, sprayed with Frost White Shimmer paint mixed with alcohol.

The seashells were stamped, cut with the coordinating die, and embossed with the Seashells embossing folder. I then cut them apart and adhered them to the bottom right corner. The extra shell I had left, I adhered to the inside of the card.

Posted for You Bay Window Card for the Share it Sunday Blog Hop

Hi, Fellow Card Makers!

Today I'm hopping along with a global group of fellow Stampin' Up demonstrators. Blogs are a great way to check out a variety of and awesome card ideas. So let's get hopping along.

The card I'm featuring today is a bay window, fancy-fold card made with the Posted for You Bundle you can find in our Annual Catalog, both the catalog retiring and the new one come out May 4th. Don't we all love a fancy fold for our cards!

The top view below gives a better view of the bay window fold. For my card I scored the front section at 3/8", 1 7/8", 3 5/8", 5 1/8" and 5 1/2". The card base is 11" x 5 1/2". I used Seaside Spray for my card base, but unfortunately, it is one of our colors that is retiring May 4th. Actually, any color you used would make this a beautiful card, too. 

From this view, you can see I tucked my card front behind the sentiment to give the bay window affect.

Pansy Dies for the Global Design Project #GDP288

Hi, Crafty-Happy People!

While planning my cards for my first class after the new Annual Catalog is released May 4th, I was inspired by the CASE the Designer Challenge at the #GDP288 Global Design Project #288 this week. This layout is one of my favorites that I find myself using quite frequently.

This is one of the cards you could make at one of my next classes coming up Thursday, May 6th at noon and 5:00 and also on Saturday, May 8th at noon. I'll be using products from the newly released catalog for all 3 cards we'll make in the class, but this card uses the awesome Pansy Dies and Pansy Patch Stamp set. Of course, it is also offered at a 10% discount bundle called Pansy Petals.

The focal point of this card is the beautiful pansy. I used Gorgeous Grape to sponge the edges of the pansy and Garden Green for the leaves.

Backing the Basic White front fold piece (9 1/4" x 3 1/4" scored at 4 5/8") is a piece of Hydrangea Hill Designer Series Paper cut with the new Scalloped Contours Dies. Love these dies! This paper was adhered to a 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" Thick White piece. I embossed the white folded piece with the Greenery Embossing Folder to give it some interest.

This side view shows you the unique fold of the card. In case you are wondering about the jewels, I colored 3 of the Opal Rounds with my Highland Heather Blends to give them some color.

Retiring In Colors Blog Hop and Free Tutorials

Hi, Crafty-Happy People!

This first one features the gorgeous Pretty Peacock In Color. I also used our now retired glimmer paper behind the cut-out design.

This next card features the pretty Seaside Spray cardstock. 

Purple Posey is the color that is highlighted in this card.
