Hi, Crafty Friends!

Eden's Garden was an early release for Stampin' Up! demonstrators in November, meaning it was a sneak peak of a bundle from the upcoming January to July Mini Catalog. So, to give you a sneak peak, a group of very talented demonstrators are showing off their projects using this set.

I chose to use a book-fold style card for my project. I used 2 different designs of the Ever Eden Designer Series Paper for my card, one 4" x 4" piece for the main front piece, and a 1" x 4" piece for the side piece with a 1" x 4" piece of gold foil under it.

To build my wreath, I used a 4" x 4" piece of Basis White. The next to largest leaf stamp was used to stamp the wreath. 

Now let's take a look at how the wreath was constructed.

Turn one quarter, lining up the corners and stamp.

Below I skipped some of the steps, but this is what you're aiming for.

I also used the tiny dots from Merriest Moments to add some gold embossed dots to the wreath. After stamping the wreath, I cut it with the largest die from Encircle in Beauty dies and adhered it to the front with dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment on gold foil and heat embossed with white embossing powder. This piece was cut with the next to smallest die from Encircle in Beauty. A 6" piece of Soft Succulent open weave ribbon was layered in a z-design in the center of the wreath, and the sentiment was adhered on top of it.

Cathedral Window Wreath for Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop-Merry Christmas

Today I'm participating in a blog hop that is anything Christmas. I decided to share a wreath one of my downline, Linda Ray, designed for a class. She did a beautiful job, and the Cathedral Window quilting design was perfect for this.

The sprig punch provided the greenery, and the paper is the Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series paper that can be found in the current August-December Mini Catalog. It is on the Last Chance list.

Blessing of Home for Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

Hi, Crafty People!

Today is Technique Tuesday Blog Hop Day, and I'm hopping along with a group of talented demonstrators. Our technique we are highlighting today is masking techniques. I love using masks, especially to make scenes with mountains and sunsets, but today I am highlighting the Retiform masking technique. I'll be honest, this technique has been around for a while, but I have never used it in a class, so today I'm giving it a try.

The cardstock I used for this card was Pool Party 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", Crumb Cake 4 1/8" x 5 3/8", and Basic White 4" x 5 1/4". I started by stamping the flower image from Blessings of Home (this set is coming up in January in our new January-July Mini-Catalog) in Soft Suede in the middle of the Basic White piece at a slight angle. A rectangle from Stitched Rectangles was cut to cover the image. 

Next, I placed a Post-It note along one of the edges of the rectangle and blended Balmy Blue from the Post-It note to the edge of the Basic White piece. The Post-It note was then moved to another side of the rectangle and Balmy Blue ink applied. I repeated this until I had covered all the sides.

Leaving the Basic White rectangle in place, I stamped the stamp, Stacked Stones, over the whole piece using Crumb Cake ink. I also sponged Crumb Cake around the edge of the Basic White rectangle before I removed it.

Stampin' Up! WaterColor pencils, both sets, were used to color the flower-Old Olive for the leaves and Crushed Curry for the flower centers. I decided to leave the petals white.

The new Brushed Brass Butterflies added an extra touch.

Even though I used Balmy Blue to sponge the front, I found the Pool Party Sheer Ribbon matched perfectly. That is also why I used Pool Party for the card base.

On the inside, I stamped Stacked Stones in Crumb Cake after stamping off first. I didn't want it to overtake the sentiment. The sentiment was stamped in Soft Suede. All sentiments are included in Blessings of Home.
