Hello and welcome to my blog! Today I want to share a beautiful and easy card made with a product you wouldn't think to use this way, the Iridescent Treat Bags and the Autumn Trees Bundle! Let's take a look.

At the end of this post is a link for you to download a free tutorial with all the instructions and measurements and, also, a video showing the construction of this card. Check it out. Links to all the supplies I used are also at the bottom.

Here is the front of the card. Look at that special effect the Iridescent Treat Bag gives!

Here you can see that it is an easel card. Just score your 11" x 4 1/4" card base at 5 1/2" and 2 3/4".

Now let's discuss how to use the treat bag. Adhere it to a 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" piece of Darling Duckling. Look how it becomes a sunset! I then cut a 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" piece of Early Espresso with the largest Branching Out die and adhered it over this piece.

The Iridescent Treat Bag piece and frame were then embossed with the Birch Wood Embossing Folder.

How did I get the tree to look like that? Lots of ink and some die cutting. I'm not going to try to explain it as it would be better for you to watch me do this step in my video. Just click on the picture below to watch.

But, to give you a hint, I started with a piece of Basic White and brushed 6 different colors on it and ended up with this piece. This is what I cut my trees from.

Here are the cut pieces from the above piece.

A strip from the Autum Toile designer series paper was brushed with Cajun Craze ink and adhered to an Early Espresso strip. The sentiment was stamped in Cajun Craze ink on a piece of Crumb Cake and cut with the smallest die from Textured Notes Dies. The embellishments are Streaked Dots.

Hello and welcome to my blog! Today I want to share a beautiful and easy card made with the Traditions of Christmas Designer Series Paper and the Branching Out Dies. At the end of this post is a link for you to download a free tutorial with all the instructions and measurements and, also, a video showing the construction of this card. Here is the front of the card. Notice the three layers.

Here I have layered the Branching Out dies on the Real Red piece. I used the largest and the 4th to the largest dies. These have been all cut at the same time.

Here's how I layered the designer series paper. I used the next to the largest and the next to the smallest dies and cut them all at one time.

I then layered them on each other and adhered them to the card front with dimensionals. The top layer was adhered with two dimensionals on top of each other to give a double height.

The sentiment and die are from the Traditional Labels Bundle and heat embossed with gold embossing powder.

The Basic White inside piece was cut with the largest die from Branching Out and stamped in Real Red with the Merry Christmas Stamp set.

Northern Lights Effect with the Iridescent Treat Bags and Light and Wonder Dies

Light-and-Wonder-Iridescent-Treat-Bags-Northern-Lights-Stampin-Up

Hello and welcome to my blog! Today I want to share a beautiful and easy card made with a product you wouldn't think to use this way, the Iridescent Treat Bags! It is a very simple and easy to make card, but packs a wow! Let's take a look.

At the end of this post is a link for you to download a free tutorial with all the instructions and measurements and, also, a video showing the construction of this card. Check it out. Links to all the supplies I used are also at the bottom.

Here is the front of the card. I used 2 dies on the card front - Branching Out Dies for the frame and Light and Wonder Dies for the trees.

This view shows the side view of the easel card.

Now, let me explain how I used the Iridescent Treat Bags to achieve a "northern lights" effect. I cut a treat bag in half and adhered it to a 5 3/8" x 4 1/8" piece of Azure Afternoon cardstock. Below are the two pieces beside each other.

This picture show how layering the treat bag on the Azure Afternoon piece totally changes the look! (I will also be posting a card, soon, where I layer it over a piece of Darling Duckling to achieve a sunset effect.) Isn't that so cool!

After I adhered the black frame to the iridescent treat background, I embossed it with the Birch Wood Embossing Folder. Here it is with the trees adhered to the background.

The pieces I used for the "stopper" (the piece to hold the easel up) were cut with dies from Peace on Earth out of Basic Black and Highland Heather. I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder.

In this picture you can see how the background changed color when you look at it from different angles.
