Hi, Crafty People!
Today I'm participating in a Crafty Challenge Blog Hop with a group of outstanding demonstrators from around the world. Our challenge is to design a card using the sketch below.
Below is the card I designed. I used the Simply Elegant Designer Series Paper, which is beautiful paper. It has gold, silver, and copper foil highlights on 6 of the designs. One side is foiled and the other side isn't.
The card base is a Basic Black 11" x 4 1/4" piece of cardstock scored and folded at 5 1/2". The next layer is a 4" x 5 1/4" copper piece from the Brushed Metallic 12" x 12" cardstock. This pack also has bronze and gold foil sheets in it.
The focal cardstock is a 5" x 3 3/4" piece from the Simply Elegant Designer Series Paper pack. I chose the piece with all the copper flowers on it. I cut this paper in half in both directions which is 2 1/2" the long way and 1 7/8" on the shorter side.
To ensure my corners were folded down evenly, I cut a piece of Thick White the same size as the 4 sections, 2 1/2 " x 1 7/8". I then measured 1 1/4'' from the top right sides across and down. I cut this corner off resulting in the piece pictured below.
Next I placed this piece on top of my designer series paper and folded the corners down. (This is another piece from the same pack, not the piece I used. It has silver and gold foil in it.)
This is how the corners fold back.
Here is the result with the center showing the 4 corners folded back. I used one of the dies from Encircled in Beauty for my center piece. The happy birthday is from the Birthday Chick dies, and I cut it from the black glitter paper.
I used a stamp from the stamp set Inspired Thoughts for my sentiment, and the flower is from the Elegantly Said stamp set. These were stamped with Cinnamon Cider ink. I cut out a flower from the designer series paper and added it to the stamped flowers.
Thank you for visiting my blog and I hope you like my card.
