Willow Tree for Kylie Bertucci's Monthly International Blog Highlights

When I saw the Willow Tree Stamp Set and Dies in the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog, I knew I was going to have to make a card with it. I saw my first willow trees when I was around 10 years old on a trip to North Carolina to visit family. I thought they were just beautiful! When Hurricane Michael came through our town in 2018, I decided to replace one of the many trees that the hurricane destroyed with a willow tree.

The card base is an 11" x 4 1/4" piece of Early Espresso cardstock folded in half. The frame was cut from the Distressed Gold Specialty Paper with one of the Fabulous Frames dies.

The willow tree trunk was cut from Early Espresso cardstock. The leaves were cut from the Distressed Gold Specialty Paper that was used for the frame, but after I altered it by stamping my Garden Green ink pad all over the piece I cut the leaves out of.

To create the background, starting at the bottom, I swiped Melody Mango, Sweet Sorbet, Pacific Point, and Starry Sky across a 4 3/4" x 3 1/4" piece of Shimmery White cardstock with a baby wipe. Make sure your baby wipe is very wet. I have found a baby wipe easy to  use, its a fast way to apply ink, and gives me the sunset look I want.

The sentiment is from Charming Sentiments and was stamped on Soft Suede in VersaMark and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I love the coordinating dies, Sentiment Silhouettes! The little butterfly is from the Pretty Pop-Ups Dies and cut from gold foil.

On the inside I stamped the willow tree and left the rest blank to write my note of thanks.
