Easy Tearing Technique for the Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop

Christmas_Scottie_Tearing_Technique_Stampin_Up

Hello and welcome to my blog! Today I'm hopping with the Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop Group. We have a sketch challenge, as pictured above. My card was inspired by Linda Ray at our Technique Club a few weeks ago. Our technique for this last month happened to be the tearing technique, which fits this sketch challenge perfectly!

I have turned my card in the opposite direction from the sketch. Start with a Real Red 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" card base folded in half. The next layer is a 5 1/4" x 4" piece of Granny Apple Green.

We embossed a 5" x 3 3/4" piece of Garden Green with the Whimsical Woodland Embossing folder, then tore about 1" section out of the middle. The remaining pieces were adhered to a 4" x 2" piece of Real Red checked paper from the Gingham Cottage paper pack. This piece was then adhered to the card front.

The berries and leaves were cut with the dies from the Holly Berry Dies and the Scottie dog from the Christmas Scottie Bundle. He is so cute!

Now, add your favorite sentiment and complete the inside. Here is the inside of mine.

To help you make this card, supplies I used to make this card are listed at the bottom of the post with links to my store.

Below is another card we made at technique club using this tearing technique and the Cottage Rose Bundle and Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper. Isn't it beautiful!!
