Hi, Crafty People!
Today I'm participating in a blog hop with a group of very talented demonstrators from around the globe. Our challenge is to share a project using a background stamp.
I decided to make a Christmas card using the Candy Canes background stamp. I used my Stampin' Up! Stamparatus, as pictured below to stamp my card. With a large stamp like this one, you will get better results with the Stamparatus.
Real Red was used for the card front and I cut two pieces: 4" x 5 1/4" and 2" x 3 1/4". I then layered these on top of each other using prepositional tape runner to hold them in place until I finish stamping them with the Candy Canes stamp in VersaMark. Be sure too press down firmly around the areas where the two pieces meet or you will get a very large unstamped border. Apply gold embossing powder and heat with a heat tool.
Adhere a gold bow around the bottom of the larger piece, then adhere to the card front.
Adhere the other Candy Cane piece to the smaller gold foil piece and adhere to the card front center with dimensionals.
Cut the Merry Christmas sentiment out of gold foil with the Word Wishes die set and adhere to the center.
2 Gold Holly Leaves were adhered to the upper left corner of the middle section and 2 red rhinestones were added for holly berries.
I also decided to see what this card would look like made with Basic Black Cardstock and here is the result.
I like the black version as it looks very elegant, but feel the Real Red is more festive. Which one do you like best?
If you haven't tried out this background stamp, you should give it a try. Now take a minute and visit the blogs of these other awesome demonstrators.
