Northern Lights Effect with the Iridescent Treat Bags and Light and Wonder Dies

Hello and welcome to my blog! Today I want to share a beautiful and easy card made with a product you wouldn't think to use this way, the Iridescent Treat Bags! It is a very simple and easy to make card, but packs a wow! Let's take a look.

Here is the front of the card. I used 2 dies on the card front - Branching Out Dies for the frame and Light and Wonder Dies for the trees.

Now, let me explain how I used the Iridescent Treat Bags to achieve a "northern lights" effect. I cut a treat bag in half and adhered it to a 5 3/8" x 4 1/8" piece of Azure Afternoon cardstock. Below are the two pieces beside each other.

This picture show how layering the treat bag on the Azure Afternoon piece totally changes the look! (I will also be posting a card, soon, where I layer it over a piece of Darling Duckling to achieve a sunset effect.) Isn't that so cool!

After I adhered the black frame to the iridescent treat background, I embossed it with the Birch Wood Embossing Folder. Here it is with the trees adhered to the background.

The pieces I used for the "stopper" (the piece to hold the easel up) were cut with dies from Peace on Earth out of Basic Black and Highland Heather. I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder.
