Learn How to Stamp on Vellum with the Branching Out Bundle

Branching-Out-Vellum-Stampin-Up

Hello and welcome to my blog! Today I want to share a beautiful and easy card made with the Branching Out Bundle and show you how to stamp on vellum. At the end of this post is a link for you to download a free tutorial with all the instructions and measurements and, also, a video showing the construction of this card. Check it out. Links to all the supplies I used are also at the bottom.

Here is the front of the card. The wood frame was cut with the largest die from Branching Out Dies out of Country Woods Designer Series Paper.

Here you can see where I stamped the pine branch from Branching Out in Early Espresso and Garden Green ink. To seal it on the vellum, I heat embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder. Notice the shine on it.

Notice the snowflakes in the background. That is a piece of Silent Snowfall Designer Series Paper, which is embossed snowflakes, that I used a brayer to apply Cloud Cover over the embossed design.

Notice the Irregular Weave Trim across the bottom. This is a very unique and interesting trim!

The inside piece is the inside from the front frame, only on the reverse side. Both stamps are retired Stampin' Up! stamps.

  1. This is a lovely card, but I am curious to know how you heat emboss Stampin Up Inks? I didn't know this was possible. Do you need to add anything else on top of the coloured ink before heat embossing in clear please? Many thanks 😊

    1. No, just the clear embossing powder. On vellum it’s easy because the vellum doesn’t allow the ink to dry so it stays wet to hold the embossing powder. On regular cardstock you need an ink pad that is very wet and sprinkle the powder on quickly after stamping before the ink dries. Hope this helps.

    2. Hi Robbie thanks so much for getting back to me so quickly! I hadn’t realised that about inks and vellum but I can see why you can do it with any embossing ink pad! Great help! Many thanks 😊
