Christmas Open Bay Window Tea Light Card

Hello and welcome to my blog! Today I want to share a beautiful card made with the Ornamental Christmas Dies. The card is called an open bay window fold, and I added a window sheet and a tea light. At the end of this post is a link for you to download a free tutorial with all the instructions and measurements and, also, a video showing the construction of this card. Here is the front of the card.

The base is Basic Black 5 1/2" x 10" scored 1 3/4", 3 3/8", 6 5/8", and 8 1/4". I adhered black glimmer paper to the back (3" x 5 3/8") and back sides (1 1/2" x 5 3/8").

Next, you add 2 brace pieces cut out of Basic Black that are 1 1/4" x 10" scored 1 3/4", 3 3/8", 6 5/8", and 8 1/4". Adhere them even with the top and bottom edges.

Now we get to adhere the pretty Modern Christmas Designer Series Paper pieces (1 3/8" x 5 3/8") to front side sections.

The window sheet (3" x 4 3/4") goes in next. The best way to do this is to put 3 mini-glue dots on the top and bottom edges of the window sheet, then slip it in under the braces and press down.

I cut a star out of gold foil with the die from Ornamental Christmas. Mini dimensionals were adhered behind each point and the middle and stuck down to the window sheet.

I cut 2 pieces of black glossy paper (1 1/8" x 3") and embossed Merry Christmas on each piece with gold embossing powder. Hint: use a lot of embossing powder on the glossy piece before embossing. The sentiment is from Jolly Holly Stamp set. One of our gold rings was adhered around the star. Notice you see some glue dots to adhere the ring to the card. Well, guess what! It didn't hold and we had to resort to super glue. That worked perfectly and didn't show.

Fold it up and put it in an envelope to mail!

Light it up with a tea light! I love how the glimmer paper sparkles!
